About

I've spent most of my career working on AWS infrastructure tooling, starting in open source — maintaining Terraform modules like terraform-aws-eks and growing terraform-aws-modules into the most widely adopted Terraform modules on AWS, with over 1.7 billion downloads.

That work caught the attention of AWS, where I went on to lead the blueprints projects — EKS Blueprints, ECS Blueprints — which inspired related projects like Data on EKS and Karpenter Blueprints. I also spent over a year on Kubernetes cluster upgrades, building eksup and contributing to EKS product features like cluster insights and other upgrade improvements.

My last 18 months at AWS were focused strictly on AI/ML workloads on EKS. Working closely with those customers kept surfacing the same challenges around application artifacts — which is what sparked OAR: rethinking how artifacts are built, distributed, and run. Tar was designed for tape drives in 1979; modern application artifacts deserve better.

Clowd Haus is where it all comes together — open source, cloud consulting, and software products.
